Collaborative metrology

Discover why
our technology
is different

  • Simultaneous (multi point / multi frame 6DOF)
  • Continuous measurements (40Hz / dynamic tracking)
  • Large volume accuracy (uniform metrological grade accuracy)
  • Scalable (expandable / adaptable)
  • Dependable measurements (drift compensation)
  • Collaborative measurements (track device / other metrology systems)

No other system offers all those features at once! This unique combination makes iGPS it truly industrial friendly!

Get measurement done faster

Distance

- Multiple technicians can measure parts simultaneously. - Our dynamic referencial for manufacturing and metrology processes to be carried out simultaneously. - Not affected by component displacement. - Same system can be scaled to measure different volumes. - Real time monitoring helps assure that measurements are always valid.

Dynamic motion tracking

Enables fast Automated Assembly with simultaneous multi-point measurements.

Components can be positioned very accurately to a pre-define position and NOT ONLY put into tolerance, enabling: predictive shimming; symmetry optimisation, flush and gap optimisation; bolt length prediction and much more! Enables easy in process-automated inspection.

Three-dimensional measurements

X, Y, Z axes

Three-dimensional measurements refer to the process of determining the dimensions, volume, and spatial properties of an object or space within three axes—length, width, and height. Unlike two-dimensional measurements, which capture only flat surface dimensions, three-dimensional measurements allow for a more complete representation of an object’s physical characteristics.

These measurements are used in various fields, including engineering, architecture, manufacturing, and medicine. Technologies such as laser scanning, photogrammetry, and 3D modeling software help capture and analyze three-dimensional data with high precision. In everyday applications, 3D measurement is essential for tasks like designing objects, constructing buildings, and even medical imaging.

Three-dimensional measurements play a crucial role across many industries and fields.

Frequently asked questions

Technology

Where is the iGPS technology manufactured?

iGPS is manufactured in Cambridge Ontario. We also have R&D activities in Québec. It is a full Canadian product.

Products

How many equipment will I need for my setup to be successful?

We usually propose a basic system which would include 4 transmitters, 1 DTK and a scale bar. But it is best to speak with one of our application engineers to get a better understanding of your specific needs

How many objects can iGPS track at the same time?

iGPS is a multi-point, multi-user tracking system. The limitation of the numbers of points to be mesures will normally be on the computer side.

General

Does iGPS provide an SDK for further development?

Yes.

Technology

Can iGPS see through objects?

No. This is a line-of-sight system although one or two transmitters can be blocked when more that three transmitters are used in a system.

Products, Technology

Can iGPS be used outdoors?

Yes, both indoors and outdoors although it is not waterproof

General

Can iGPS be used in raining condition?

No, the rain will interfere with the laser beams, so the accuracy will be compromised and the iGPS equipment are not IP rated currently.

Technology

How many transmitters do I need for my application?

The amount of equipment is heavily affected by the size of the measurement volume and the occlusion of the environment, typically, the bigger the volume the more equipment will be required to cover it. Also the more occlusions at the site will also require more equipment especially the transmitters.

Technology

How many targets, I can track together at the same time?

As much as your computer can support (data computing)
